On-Line Journal and Publications Center

The best way to follow up on the Lecture Program is to establish an on line Journal that will reprint the lectures and other material necessary to communicate with potential supporters, titled Federalist Leadership. The Director has experience with such a journal, having edited 65 issues of one since 2003. The initial readership was an on-line membership list of 80,000, with an average of well over 50,000 hits per bi-monthly issue and more than 15,000 extended visits, the latter being more important because it demonstrates that the magazine is actually read by large numbers of people each time it is published.

Such a magazine is published by the director and one technical contractor. This staffing would be appropriate for the Center publication also. The Bellevue computer would host the magazine but it would be administered by the director and the contractor.

More importantly, the journal was written at least 80 percent by new contributors, at least one-third being younger authors seeking new writing outlets. This has allowed the discovery of a dozen young, new writers who have been engaged and trained by the editing process. The plan is to duplicate this experience at the Center in a monthly publication for the Federalist ideals and institutions. Indeed, by using the stable of writers developed already, it might be possible to publish before the first lecture and it might even prove possible to utilize the existing e-mail list.

As the Center’s activities accumulate, certain ones might be appropriate for fine printing and binding to be sent to specific audiences to aid in developing support.
